Color Crush: Winter White

White is a popular flooring color and still going strong into 2023.
White floors can bring a clean foundation to a wide range of decor styles. Combine white floors with pops of color, metals, or natural earth tones to create a beautiful atmosphere meant to be enjoyed all year long.
Keep reading to explore white flooring options from some of our favorite manufacturers.
Solid White
Solid white broadloom carpets are available in a variety of textured or cut pile options in different pile heights and softness levels. Bedrooms are the most popular spaces in which our clients want white carpet—and softness is key.
Some of our new favorites are Antrim’s Euphoria and Prestige Mills’ Cole which make beautiful rugs (hand serged is the way to go!) or can be installed wall to wall. White shag is also a popular request but buyer beware, a solid white shag can be even more high maintenance and difficult to vacuum.
Carpet Time Tip:
The best way to maintain your white carpet is to professionally clean it at least once a year.
White Boucle and Woven Carpets
White and cream chunky berbers, boucles, and woven carpets are a top favorite for my Scandi-design lovers. These carpets add the right amount of texture to a room and are usually available on 15’ wide rolls to avoid seams and are great for oversized custom rug sizes.
White Prints
If you don’t want to commit to a solid white carpet, we can show you a variety of patterned options.
Kane Carpet, known for bold patterns and designs, has a vast array of white patterns in their collection including style Sigma as seen installed on Nicole Hirsch Interiors’ client’s home.
Patterned options will be a friendlier option for a household with pets or children as any type of white flooring is high maintenance.
White Vinyl
If you are looking for a white hard surface, there are growing options in luxury vinyl tile and plank by Stanton, Coretec, and Karndean. Stanton currently has a great selection of herringbone, wood planks (in varying widths), and tile (marble and stone) all in various shades of white and cream!
As Seen on TV
White is a very popular flooring color with our film clientele. Carpet Time worked with set decorator Rich Devine who was in search of a luxe white carpet for HBO Max’s Gossip Girl. The winner was a supremely thick (almost 100oz!) carpet called Cashmere Classic for Julien’s walk-in closet.
